Description

Bird by Bird: Finding Human Connections in Digital Literacy

By Professor Jennifer Rowsell

Bird by bird is a metaphor that refers to a steady movement toward a goal. Anne Lamott devised it to describe the writing process. For this Inaugural Lecture, I apply the metaphor to my career as a literacy researcher conducting ethnographies of multimodal and digital literacy learning in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. I shine a particular light on new research that explores post-digital literacy to find human connections in a world increasingly encroached by machines.

The lecture will be live streamed via Encore using this link.
