The day highlighted the amazing research going on in each of the schools within the Engineering Faculty. Heads of Schools gave updates highlighting their vision the direction of research will take over the next few years. PhD students and PDRAs showcased their research in a series of presentations and a poster session. Audience members were invited to vote for their favourite poster and presentation.
On behalf of the Engineering Researchers Symposium committee, Matt Turton, co-president of the EngPGR committee, said: “A special thank you to Prof. Conchúr Ó Brádaigh, our amazing Vice-President and Head of Faculty, as well as all of the Heads of School for giving some inspirational talks about the work and direction of research going on within the engineering space at Sheffield. With a huge thank you to the Royce Institute for contributing towards the sponsorship of the event, and creating pathways for advanced materials research at Sheffield.
“We are so grateful to all of the presenters for your enthusiasm on your research and creating great scientific discussions throughout the event, you truly made the event worth attending. To the fellow students, researchers and academics who attended, we thank you for your support. We hope to see even more of you next year.”
