Everyone has different aspirations and different development needs so we encourage an idividualised development plan based on the Researcher Development Framework.

Engineering Researcher Society

This society provides a voice for researchers, networking and development opportunities.

Every researcher is automatically a member.

Mentoring programme

Mentoring will supply you with professional guidance to help support you through all stages of your career here and into your next position whether that is within the academic environment or in one of the hundreds of alternative career paths.

Sheffield Engineering Gateway

Aims to support the application of existing departmental knowledge transfer expertise to companies across the engineering sector as a whole.

Expert advice tailored to individual needs. groups sessions and one to one support.

Transitions programme

To provide focus on your career and explore overcoming any barriers. These sessions are provided throughout the year and cover a range of subjects.
