Engagement & Impact
We are active contributors to our research communities and been involved in organising international events. For example, in 2014 we organised the Cross Language Evaluation Forum (CLEF) event. Our researchers regularly speak at international conferences and provided tutorials on topics, such as crowdsourcing, multilingual information retrieval and search evaluation. We also develop resources (e.g., datasets, evaluation benchmarks and software code) for supporting research activities and produce research articles (e.g. journal articles, conference papers and books). Our research has been funded by organisations, such as Google, OCLC Inc., the UK National Archives and Peak Indicators, as well as funding bodies, including the European Union, European Science Foundation, Arts and Humanities Research Council and Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
