- Profile
-
I am in the final part of public health speciality training and currently work as an adviser on child and adolescent health in the World Health Organisation's (WHO) regional office for Europe (Athens). I recently completed a National Institute for Health Research Doctoral Research Fellowship (NIHR DRF) on the impact of inequalities in child development on adolescent health at ScHARR. I continue to work closely with ScHARR on this topic and on health inequalities policy.
My background, prior to specialising in public health, is in pharmacy and I have extensive experience of medicines management in primary and community care in the NHS.
- Research interests
-
I am interested in the relationship between aspects of development in mid-childhood and adolescent health. Specifically, my research tries to improve understanding of the development-health relationship from childhood to adolescence and the impact of socioeconomic circumstances on the relationship. This is to inform life course policy from childhood through to adolescence to reduce inequalities in health.
My research involves a unique mix of epidemiological methods and knowledge mobilisation to produce actionable evidence to identify policy questions and inform policy to reduce child and adolescent health inequality.
