Profile

With a background in sociology and anthropology, I have pursued a research career in science and technology studies, exploring the themes of cultural economy, and the politics and practices of policy making, implementation, and enactment in everyday practices. My most recent research has focused on the governance of environmental sustainability, where I examined the role of an environmental standard (Code for Sustainable Homes), promoted by policy, in the development and design of new housing schemes. I am currently working on a project called 'MAGIC Mobilising Adaptation – Governance of Infrastructure through Coproduction' (NERC 2020-2022). My role within this project is to examine how community, water and health concerns are built into local, regional and national institutional plans and policies, with regards to the governance of flood risk adaptation.
