2017 Sheffield Games | Special Olympics
This year Special Olympics Great Britain will be hosting their 10th National Games in Sheffield, from Monday 7 August to Saturday 12 August.
Did you know - this is the second time Sheffield has hosted the Special Olympic Games, the last time was in 1993.
2,600 athletes with an intellectual (learning) disability will be competing in 21 events, supported by 800 coaches and 750 volunteers. The athletes will arrive on the Monday and get moved into their temporary accommodation at the Ranmoor/Endcliffe residences, with the opening ceremony being held at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane stadium on Tuesday 8 August.
