We are pleased to announce that Hannah Dalley, a first year student in the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, has achieved a Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Hannah received her award from HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at a presentation ceremony at St. James’s Palace.

Gold is the highest possible award level and to achieve it requires persistence, commitment and personal development sustained over a period of eighteen months in a range of activities from five sections of a DofE programme. Hannah’s activities included scout leading duties, planning and participating in team expeditions and a ‘Headstart’ course involving engineering design of a satellite capsule.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award has been running for over 53 years and is the world’s leading achievement award for young people.
