What made you decide to study Dental Public Health at the University of Sheffield?
“My time as a dentist in India, learning about patients’ habits and behaviours regarding their oral health inspired me to pursue the subject in more depth. A master's in Dental Public Health at the University of Sheffield gave me the opportunity to study the factors affecting the population's oral health.”
What did you enjoy most about the course?
“The University of Sheffield provided a safe and inclusive environment for me to excel at my studies. The faculty's support and guidance during the course was what I appreciated the most. They welcomed collaborative thinking, new ideas and encouraged us to question existing notions in the field. Most of the sessions were discussions instead of lectures from the professor.”
What knowledge and skills did you develop during the course?
“The course helped me develop critical thinking and analysis skills, as well as my time management and the ability to appropriately articulate my thoughts and ideas. The knowledge I gained about the basics of statistics and conducting research also provided skills essential for my future growth.”
What steps do you see yourself taking during the next chapter of your career?
“My time spent in research and studying for the master's degree helped me realise that I am interested in research, and I aim to pursue a career in this area. The skills and knowledge I learnt during this course provided me with the starting point in pursuing my doctoral studies.”

“My advice to a student thinking about studying this course at Sheffield is to be certain about their future goals and ambitions, and to study this course if it takes them closer to achieving those goals.
