Hounsfield Lane and 'Hicks Triangle' Pocket Park are open.  No further updates are required

The small section of Hounsfield Lane remains closed but all access described below is maintained.

Tuesday 11 July 12 noon

As shown on the map, a small section of Hounsfield Lane is currently closed.  Access is maintained to the existing parking at the back of the Glossop Road properties. 

The 'Hicks Triangle' Pocket Park is closed and should not be accessed.

All pedestrians and vehicles should use Glossop Road as an alternative route to accessing Hounsfield Road .

Previous Updates regarding the Pedestrian Access at the back of Hicks

The walkway reopened on the morning of Tuesday 11 July.  The barriers have been removed.

Tuesday 4 July

The walkway remains closed and we do not expect to be able to open it this week.  The next update will be provided by 4pm on Monday 10 July.

Monday 3 July

The walkway remains closed.  Signage has been added to the fencing.  We appreciate this is a well used pedestrian route and are working hard to be able to reopen it as soon as possible.  Further maintenance works will be taking place tomorrow and we will provide an update by 4pm on Tuesday 4 July.

Saturday 1 July

Fencing has been put in place at both sides of the closed area.  Please use the alternative route as shown in the diagram below.  (Access to the University Concourse is also possible between the west side of the Student's Union and The Octagon).

Thursday 29 June

The area will remain closed for the remainder of today Thursday 29 June and Friday 30 June.  Please continue to use the alternative route.  An update will be provided before Monday 3 July.

Wednesday 28 June

An email was sent to all University staff and contacts registered on EFM Contact Suite to receive notifications about buildings.

The steps which are to the side of the Hicks Cycle Hub are closed for the rest of today and tomorrow morning as a minimum.  A further update will be provided on Thursday once essential works have been completed. The diagram (above) has a red line to show where is currently closed, and a green line providing an alternative route.
