Tree works at Norton this January

In January, we will be undertaking maintenance works at Norton Sports Park.

In late 2020, our survey identified the following work to take place in the woodland close to Norton Sports Park:

  • Two willow trees have collapsed and are now leaning on fencing and neighbouring trees. We will fell these to ground level. Our policy is to replace every tree felled with two new specimens. These four new trees will be   replanted as close to the site as possible.
  • Two branches on an elder and two stems on a willow have died and are at risk of falling into the road – these will be removed in accordance with good tree and estate management.
  • Removing a dead stem from an oak tree which is at risk of falling into the footpath through the woodland.

Our trusted arboriculturalists, Sheffield Tree Care will carry out this work on 26 January 2021.
