On 18 January, fourteen managers from Multidisciplinary Engineering Education (MEE) took part in a full day of training in the  i-ACT course.

This course was specifically tailored to support managers in promoting mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Developed with evidence-based practices and input from leading academics, the course provides a comprehensive toolkit and resource pack for managers.

Participation on the course provided managers with a deeper understanding of mental health and wellbeing issues, enabling them to recognise when colleagues may require additional help and support.  It equipped managers with practical tools to promote positive wellbeing in the workplace, fostering resilience both for themselves and their team members.

There is a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration in MEE and it is always heart warming to hear people describe it as a lovely place to work. This type of work environment doesn’t happen by itself - it is the result of everyone in the department making an effort to look after themselves and look after one another. I’m delighted that so many of our staff engaged with this day-long training. This commitment to enhancing our understanding of mental health and improving our managerial practices speaks volumes about our dedication to maintaining this positive and supportive culture.

MEE always strives to foster a supportive and healthy work environment for all our staff and we hope that this investment in the wellbeing of our team reflects our commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
