Information Advisory Service and Skills Coordinator

Do you have experience in delivering excellent customer service, coordinating and managing teams, and supporting students? If so, the University Library has an exciting opportunity for an Information Advisory Service and Skills Coordinator join our team.

Reporting to the Library Services Manager, and deputising for them where appropriate, this position will see you playing a significant role in the development and management of library services, while still being a key part in their practical delivery. 

You will provide senior support to staff working on service points, resolving customer queries, helping users access our physical and digital collections, support the use of library and university systems, and provide user education on areas such as information literacy. You will plan staffing schedules, lead on service delivery and suggest and implement service improvements.

Learning Space Assistant

Learning Space Assistants act as the first point of contact for library customers either on Welcome or Information desks. Work at these desks could involve responding to customers’ library information and IT enquiries, dealing with borrower account issues, building access or booking enquiries. 

You will also take on a variety of tasks to support the service, such as helping customers to use the Library’s self-service facilities, issuing requested items, or assisting with the work of the digital commons, plus tasks to support the circulation of library material to customers including: the retrieval of items to fulfil customer requests, and the sorting and shelving of books according to the library classification system.
