University Silver, Silverplate and Metalware
The University Heritage Collection includes around 40 pieces of decorative artwork in silver and metalwork which is used for decoration and events. This also includes trophies and plaques, often dedicated to individuals associated with the University.
The above image shows a circular dish with repousse design of the Edgar Allen library and a band of lettering around the central image. Surface lightly hammered. Assayed in London, 1909.
The silver table suite comprises of a rectangular pedestal rose bowl with matching pair of two-light candle holders. Engraved by R Shaw and made by Mappin and Webb Ltd Sheffield 1959.
