    Course description

This is a highly flexible course, designed to fit around your needs and commitments. The course provides the opportunity for healthcare professionals with a developing interest in medical education to explore the theoretical principles underpinning medical education and consider how this relates to their practice.

The course aims to develop medical educators who are informed and understand the core principles and issues in medical education. Participants on this course come from a range of healthcare professions such as doctors, dentists, psychiatrists, nurses, physician associates and paramedics.

This course is delivered through a highly experienced, multi-disciplinary team of expert tutors. Whether you are new to teaching or want to enhance existing skills, you'll gain expertise in effective medical education and develop a scholarly approach to implementing educational practices and strategies. Throughout your studies, we encourage you to make critical links between your own practice, theory and policy.

We are a leading centre for medical education. Our curriculum is innovative and highly regarded, developing our students to achieve their potential. The Academic Unit of Medical Education includes the Clinical Skills Centre, Medical Teaching Unit (Anatomy) and the Academic Unit of Primary Medical Care.

In the event of any change we'll consult and inform students in good time and take reasonable steps to minimise disruption. We are no longer offering unrestricted module choice.
