A Levels
Applicants taking A Levels are normally expected to present at least three full GCE A Levels for entry to our undergraduate courses.
The grades you need to achieve are specified in course entries in our online prospectus, and we also set achieving these grades as a condition in our offers. If you achieve equivalent grades – for example we ask for AAA, and you achieve A*AB – we may still be able to accept you, but this isn't guaranteed.
For some of our courses, we'll expect you to be studying one or two relevant subjects, and we'll ask you to achieve certain grades in these. For your other A Levels, or where courses have no subject requirements, we accept A Levels in any subject (this includes A Levels in your native language).
You can check the A Level grades we require for entry to specific courses, and any subject requirements, in the course listings in our online prospectus. If you have any questions about our A Level subject requirements, please contact our Admissions Service.
We have specific policies on resitting and taking A Levels early, which may vary depending on the course you're applying for. You can find out more in our qualifications policies.
We also welcome applications from candidates with International A Levels from Cambridge International Exams (CIE), Pearson/Edexcel, Oxford International AQA Exams and Learning Resource Network (LRN). Grade requirements are the same as for UK A Levels.
You can find details of the other UK qualifications we accept on our Other UK Qualifications webpage.
