Ever wanted to call yourself an expert on a subject? Do you want to know the logic behind mastering a skill?

Join the Department of Psychology for this taster session, where you'll be introduced to the concepts underpinning the subject of expertise and the factors behind its development.

From Novice to Ninja: Becoming an Expert

During this session, you'll be introduced to the Department of Psychology, where we will detail our course offerings.

We will also provide a glimpse into student life on campus and what to expect when you join us. You'll get to experience a sample lecture on the subject of expertise and the factors contributing to its development.

Finally, you will have the opportunity to engage with our student ambassadors, who can address any questions you may have regarding student life in Sheffield.

This session is suitable for students in years 12 and 13.

  • 4.35pm: Introduction to the department
  • 4.45pm: Subject taster - Becoming an Expert
  • 5.25pm: Question and answer session about the subject taster
  • 5.35pm: Question and answer session with current students
  • 5.50pm: Next steps
