Recent BDS graduate Zahra Kidy has also been awarded the Section of Odontology, Colyer Prize from the Royal Society of Medicine. Zahra who continued her BMedSci project studying oral cancer cell invasion supervised by Dr Simon Whawell had to present her findings to the judges online as attendance at the oral session planned for the spring was not possible this year. She was then invited to repeat this at a Leadership in Dentistry webinar. Zahra is now working in general practice and one day a week at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London as part of a pilot dental foundation scheme.

These awards are testimony to the excellence of our undergraduate and postgraduate researchers, and the high standards of supervision in the School. We are very proud of these achievements.
