New textbook from Dental School Academics

Dr Simon Whawell and Dr Dan Lambert from the School of Clinical Dentistry have co-edited and partly written a new textbook for undergraduate dental students.

‘Basic Sciences for Dental Students’ has just been published by Wiley and is collaboration with colleagues in the School and broader Oral and Dental academic community. The aim was to support undergraduate sciences from basic cell biology and neuroscience to microbiology, anatomy and material science and tailor these subjects towards future clinically practice.

The cover image was generated by dental student Heather Wallace as part of her intercalated BMedSci project.

We are delighted that a project initiated 5 years ago has finally come to fruition and hope that undergraduate dental students find it a useful resource
