This is Nathan - he is a PhD student working across Computer Science and the Medical School and here he shares why he enjoys the community feel of Sheffield and how the University's LGBT society helped him grow as a person. This is his story.

One of the things I liked about the University of Sheffield is that they have a really good student's union and a good LGBT society. On the first week of being here they arranged lots of events that gave me an opportunity to meet other gay people. That was really good for me because I hadn't met many gay people before moving to university and I hadn't had a chance to explore that part of my personality and identity. By meeting other gay people it really helped me grow.
