Addressing the Skills Gap in Cell & Gene Therapies

On 30th June 2023, the Innovation Hubs published a report providing our perspective on the skills gap in the UK cell and gene therapy sector.

Research using lab equipment in the Gene Therapy Innovation and Manufacturing Centre

There is a shortage of skilled people at all levels in the advanced therapies field. Upskilling those working in the advanced therapies and bioprocessing sector, as well as attracting new talent, is a key focus for the Innovation Hubs. Providing training opportunities is vital to achieve the network’s ambition to increase the number of novel gene therapies bridging the gap between early research, Phase I trials, and beyond.

On 30th June 2023, the Innovation Hubs published a report providing our perspective on the skills gap in the UK cell and gene therapy sector. The report shares the findings from a consultation with stakeholders, who provided their expert insight and recommendations as to how the Hubs could expand our training programmes to address the areas of greatest need.

The report also details the range of training programmes on offer from the Innovation Hubs. Keep checking this page regularly for details of new courses as they become available.
