For category A and B permits a one-mile exclusion zone will apply. Staff or students who live within one-mile of the University will not be issued with a permit.
Parking is available at the student residences around Endcliffe and Ranmoor for staff and students who live or work at the residences. It can also be used if you wish to park and then walk or cycle the last mile to central campus.

Discounted parking for staff in our multi-storey car parks
University staff are eligible for discounted parking in the NCP on Solly Street (S1 4DE) and the Q-Park on Durham Road (S10 2JA). Follow the guidance below to arrange this:
NCP Solly Street (560 spaces)
If you hold a university category B permit, please contact parking@sheffield.ac.uk to enquire about availability at Solly Street.
If you are a University staff member without a parking permit, you can park in the NCP on Solly Street at a discounted price of £5 per day with an NCP Park Pass. The following instructions explain how to sign up for this:
- Visit http://parkpasscard.ncp.co.uk and register as a new customer
- Follow the instructions given.
- At stage 4 of the registration process, enter the Saver ID code: AUN6X4LD
- Once the registration is complete you should receive your Park Pass within seven days. You can then manage your account online, adding credit as required.
You can also use the NCP Park Pass in other NCP car parks, with 10 per cent off the advertised rate during the first three months.
If you don't reapply for a B permit, or your B permit ends prematurely, then this discount rate will cease. If you have any questions please email parking@sheffield.ac.uk
Q-Park Durham Road (560 spaces)
Please note, this is a popular car park and there is currently a waiting list for discounted staff permits.
However, the simple process for getting a Daily Value Card is managed by Q-Park; once you have the card you are eligible to park for £7 per day.
