Department announces four more fully funded postgraduate opportunities

We are pleased to advertise ONE four-year, ESRC 1+3 Quota studentship to come to Sheffield to study for a PhD plus THREE fully funded one-year places to study on our ESRC-recognised MSc in Psychological Research, starting in September 2006. These are in addition to the two EPSRC, one ESRC/CASE and one University PhD studentships advertised on our 'Postgraduate Opportunites' pages (see below for link).

The ESRC Quota PhD studentship is available to undertake research in any area related to social psychology. The Department has particular strengths in attitude theory and measurement, changing health behaviour, trust and risk perception, evaluating medical interventions, and work and organisational psychology.

The quota studentship pays living expenses (currently £12,300) plus the standard UK/EU tuition fee for four years of study: One year to be spent on our ESRC-recognised MSc in Psychological Research and three years subsequently conducting research for the PhD thesis.

We also have available three one-year Incentive Awards. Incentive awards provide both maintenance (currently £12,300) plus the standard UK/EU tuition fee to study on our ESRC-recognised MSc in Psychological Research, starting in September 2006. Incentive awards are intended for students who wish to carry on subsequently to obtain funding for a PhD.

The above awards are open to all with research interests in psychology (social sciences) and are not tied to any specific projects. However, staff members also have a list of projects that they would be keen to have a student work with them on. For a list of these see:
