Nora K Abo Ghaddara MSc Cognitive Neuroscience and Human Neuroimaging

Nora’s research project on Autologous Haematopoietic Stem Cell transplantation as a first line treatment in patients with very active Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis was the highlight of her MSc Cognitive Neuroscience and Human Neuroimaging studies and has inspired her to pursue a PhD in the field of Multiple Sclerosis in the future.

Muneerah wanted a masters programme that blended neuroscience, mathematical modelling and neuroimaging to give her a broad overview and a future focus. Muneerah is now a Research Software Engineer at the University of Sheffield.

I funded the course myself after having worked for 25 years

John Brooke MSc Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience

After a long career in high-performance computing, John chose to study the MSc Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience course to pursue his interest in how the brains of animals and humans perform complex computational tasks using very small amounts of energy. John is now continuing the research as a PhD student in the department.

Jake studied BEng Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering at Sheffield before choosing to pursue the MSc Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience. His training on the course covers the whole spectrum of approaches to answer questions about how the brain works and following graduation he hopes to pursue a PhD in this field.

The statistical programming skills he developed during his masters are proving extremely beneficial for this next stage of his studies.

We offer a generous package of financial support for international students including 75 undergraduate scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee and 125 postgraduate taught scholarships worth £5,000 towards the tuition fee. Applications are now open for existing offer holders.
