Investigating strategies for environmental learning in typical and atypical development
Departmental Lecturer and former Deputy-Head of Department Mark Blades is part of a successful bid to the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Agence Nationale de la Recherche for a Franco-British award for a project entitled 'Investigating strategies for environmental learning in typical and atypical development'. The bid was in collaboration with the University of London Institute of Education and the Universities of Lille and Rouen. The project will assess the wayfinding abilities of young people with Williams syndrome and Down syndrome, using virtual environments. The award is for €700K over four years. At least €150K will come to Sheffield to support a Research Assistant and an ESRC postgraduate student.
