There is growing mental health crisis among Chinese university students with an estimated 24% of Chinese students suffering from depression. Our project will take a proactive approach to addressing this issue by examining the role of emotional resilience in the mental health and well-being of Chinese Han and ethnic minority university students. The results from a literature review and a research study will provide foundational evidence about similarities and differences among the two student groups that will inform the development of psycho-educational materials and targeted interventions designed to foster emotional resilience and therefore promote sustainable well-being.
