Facilities for postgraduate research students
When you study for a research degree at the University of Sheffield, you will join one of the UK's top research institutions, with state-of-the art facilities and resources, including the Information Commons (pictured).
You will become part of a large community of graduate students and have access to the facilities necessary to help you to complete your degree successfully.
Within the School, there are excellent facilities for PhD study.
Full time research students will be allocated a desk and networked computer with access to networked printers, scanner and phototocopier in one of our PGR rooms in the Innovation Centre. A wide range of software is available through the campus network and online journals are readily available. Part time students can request a desk if they need one. Students can use the kitchen and large cafe with vending machines in the Innovation Centre.
You will be able to access your university account via MUSE. MUSE also enables remote access to many University library databases, e-journals and other resources.
The University of Sheffield Library is well-stocked and houses extensive book collections and related periodicals. ScHARR's own library complements these facilities, with a range of specialist publications for health studies research.
