Studying Engineering at Sheffield

At Sheffield we’re passionate about developing world-leading engineering professionals. Our teaching brings together the fundamental scientific knowledge that underpins engineering with the creative thinking and problem-solving skills to create outstanding engineers.

Our staff combine teaching with cutting-edge research which means you’ll be taught by academics who are experts in their field. We also work closely with industry to make sure that you have the skills and experience needed to get a brilliant graduate job.

As a student you’ll find a friendly and supportive home in your academic department but the wide range of engineering activities at Sheffield means our teaching has a strong interdisciplinary focus. You’ll get the chance to widen your knowledge and skills by learning about other areas of engineering and collaborating with students from other disciplines on real-world engineering projects.
