AGH is one of the leading scientific and technical universities in Poland, and this appointment creates an important link with the GPRG and the University of Sheffield in terms of establishing future research collaboration and teaching between the two universities.

Steve has already visited AGH in March, where he taught second and third year undergraduate classes in a wide range of topics, including the fate and transport of pollutants in soil and groundwater, behaviour of pollutants in plumes, investigating and monitoring of contaminated sites, developing conceptual site models for contaminated sites and remediation technoloiges.

The classes were delivered over two weeks and included group exercises in developing a remediation strategy for a contaminated site. The ambition is to formalise future training links between the two universities via the Erasmus teaching programme, with exchanges of academic staff and students between each institution.
