We are seeking someone who is a strategic planner, who can ensure the Data Connect service is sustainable, adaptable and positioned to meet the future demands of regional health data research.
You'll need to have the ability to manage a large and complex portfolio of work, balancing operational priorities with long-term strategic goals in a fast-evolving health and social care data landscape. A background in the technical practice, processes and governance needed to support research in the exciting field of health data is also highly desirable.

IT Support Technician
As IT Support Technician within Faculty IT, you are responsible for providing high quality, customer focused IT support service with a focus on the academic, student, research and staff experience across University faculties and the central IT Services Department.
You will provide both in-person and remote support and resolution for customer requests, end user devices, hardware, operating systems, software & cloud based applications, configure network services for Windows and macOS. You will organise and coordinate resource and work activities including all aspects of device management and IT support for faculty-specific projects, workstreams and annual events.

IT Support Assistant
The IT Support Assistant plays a crucial role within both central IT Services and Faculty IT teams at the University of Sheffield. This position requires a good technical aptitude, problem-solving skills and competent communication abilities to deliver professional IT support to students and staff across the University.
You will provide comprehensive technical support for a range of IT systems and services, diagnosing and resolving moderate to complex technical issues with minimal supervision. Working across campus locations, you'll apply your technical knowledge to address hardware, software and network problems while contributing to the continuous improvement of IT services.

You will work within the IT Services Business Support Team located within Service & Operations. We provide administrative and secretarial support to the rest of the department and the Executive Team.
Working as part of the team, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative support duties such as receiving visitors to our reception desk, taking deliveries, arranging travel and accommodation for our staff, and recruitment and finance administration.
