Sara Memarpour Hobbi

Department of Materials Science and Engineering

Research Associate

Qualifications

Sara received her dual-honours degree in Neuroscience and Forensic Science (BSc) from Keele University, followed by an MRes in Neuroscience from Newcastle University, where she investigated the role of the mTORC1 signalling pathway in neuropathic pain for her research project.

Research interests

Sara is currently funded by the EPSRC for a collaborative project between the Neuroscience group in the School of Clinical Dentistry (lead by Professor Boissonade) and the Biomaterials department (Professor Haycock, Dr Claeyssens) in Materials Science and Engineering.

Her current work builds on previous research developed by the group, focusing on the development and optimisation of novel nerve guide conduits for peripheral nerve repair.
