Course description

Distance learning, part-time online course

The course is taught entirely online. The course will help you develop a deep understanding of planning, teaching and assessment strategies, along with helping you to get the most out of new technologies. It will help you to develop links between practice, theory and research through reflection on your own teaching, in order to enhance your professional performance.

  • Module 1: Education, Teaching and Learning
  • Module 2: Practice-based Inquiry

Teaching

This course is taught via online modules with individual online tutorial support and independent study.

Assessment

Module 1 is assessed through two pieces of work (each 3,000 words in length) and participation in online course discussions. Assessment for Module 2 consists of a report on a small-scale research study, equivalent to 6,000 words.

Entry requirements

An undergraduate degree, or at least three years’ experience within a field of education.

English language requirements

Overall IELTS grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.
