Professor James Hitchmough has been appointed visiting scholar at UC Berkeley

Professor James Hitchmough has been appointed visiting scholar at the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at the University of California, Berkeley.

James, who began his post on 29 March 2019, will use his time in California to explore potential research collaborations with Sheffield, whilst forging links with the renowned department, known for its design of landscapes that promote ecological integrity and social equality.

The five week posting will also provide opportunity for James to travel around California examining the state’s semi-natural landscapes, in which he has a long-standing interest and which inform his research into the ecology of Mediterranean ecosytems.
