Access to digital content
The digital content that you are able to access will depend upon which organisation you are employed by/studying with. Organisations purchase a licence for electronic journals, books and databases; either as a "basket" deal or as an individual resource. This licence will generally allow the organisation to give access to its staff and students.
Digital content purchased by the University of Sheffield is accessible to those NHS staff with honorary University contracts (please see below). Digital content is also available via StarPlus the Library catalogue. For those titles where the publisher permits walk-in access (which is the majority of health related titles), access is provided to NHS registered users in the Health Sciences Libraries at RHH and NGH.
Digital content purchased by NHS England is accessible to NHS staff (including those University staff with honorary NHS contracts), via NICE Evidence Journals and Databases. Once you have logged in using an Athens username and password, additional content, purchased at a regional or local level is also available by clicking on the link to ‘My Resources – access your links, alerts and library information’
