My masters is my stepping stone to my dream job
After I finished my undergrad in Denmark, I did some travelling around Europe and then moved to Sheffield, ready to start my MSc.
A top-rated University
I’ve heard good things about Sheffield and it was important to me that the university was highly ranked internationally (it is ranked in the world top 100 universities). The other aspect that really appealed to me was the course content. The MSc Management (International Business) covers everything that I want and so far, the teaching has been great. I feel like I am learning a lot from my lecturers who not only have academic knowledge but also impressive work histories.
Life at the Management School
I'm settling into life in the Management School. Before coming here, I worried that I might not be able to keep up with the high teaching standards, but so far I’ve done great. It’s all about being committed and working hard.
The School has good facilities and I love going there to study. The cafeteria has great food and coffee and all the sofas are comfy! The Students' Union building is simply amazing and it’s got lots of great spaces. All the staff I had contact with so far has been helpful and friendly.
Green spaces to explore
I don't have a lot of spare time due to work and classes, but when I do, I like to go around the parks and the Peak District with my little dog. I love how many green areas there are and that there is relatively little pollution. I like going to the theatre which is affordable for students with the 'Live for £5' offer and the cinema as well. When I’ve got some more time, I'll visit different cities around the UK.
A step toward my future career
As for my future, I’m aiming to become a strategy and management consultant and I feel that this course will really help my career prospects, and so far, I'm really enjoying what I'm learning. Plus, the Futures First Employability Hub is an amazing resource where you can get help and information about how to land your dream job.
Weekly online events
Attend an online event when it suits you, all year round, as an alternative to an open day.
Every Wednesday, Sheffield Live sessions cover different aspects of University life. You can also meet your department and learn more about studying your subject.
