Miss Olivia Hodson-Barnes graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Business Management in China in 2017.
Olivia first visited China during the summer of 2014, where she studied Mandarin Chinese at Beijing International Studies University. The following year she was awarded the Confucius Institute Scholarship and in August 2015, moved to Shanghai to study Mandarin Chinese at Fudan University. During 2016, she worked in Qingdao, Shandong as a Marketing Executive for a training and consulting company, before returning to the UK in June 2016. During her time at university, Olivia co-founded the UCLan Chinese Language and Culture Society (CLCS) and served as Society Treasurer for two years. She has completed both HSK Level 3 & Level 4 Chinese Proficiency exams and in 2016, was chosen to host UCLan’s 2017 Chinese New Year Gala.
From late 2017 to December 2019, she worked at a private property management company based in Sheffield. In January 2020, she joined the Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield as the new Project Coordinator.
