Subhasish M. Chowdhury got elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Economic Science Association (ESA) in 2023. The ESA is a professional organization devoted to economics as an observational science, using controlled experiments to learn about economic behavior. With more than 8,000 members it is the world's biggest platform for researchers in economics, psychology, business, political science and other fields working in behavioural and experimental economics.

The executive committee of the association is the body that overviews the activity of the organization including setting up and updating the legislation, discuss and update on the standard of methodology in the profession, mentoring junior members, organizing conference of the association and sessions in other association's conference, publishing the flagship journals "Experimental Economics" and the "Journal of the EConomic Science Association" etc.

Past members of the Executive Committee include some of the most well known economists in the world such as Vernon Smith (2002 Nobel Laureate), Elinor Ostrom (2009 Nobel Laureate), Alvin Roth (2012 Nobel Laureate) among others. Subhasish is the only researcher elected in the Executive Committee representing the UK in many years. He is also the first person of colour in the history of the ESA along with Seda Ertac to be elected from the Europe zone.
