Jon's teaching focus centres around themes of responsible management, sustainability and social engagement. In this respect he seeks to get students to consider how their own personal values can shape their working lives and how business skills can be effectively applied for social benefit. Beyond the classroom he works with students in the area of social enterprise and community engagement through his role as University Advisor for the Sheffield ENACTUS team.

Jon's primary research interests focus upon issues of corporate social responsibility, sustainable development and business ethics. He is particularly interested in the interactions between businesses and third sector organisations. In addition, he is involved in the school's commitment to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).
