I decided to come to study at the University of Sheffield because not only is it a well-renowned university overall for its excellent teaching and its high recognition in the field of psychology, but the various support that is also given outside of lectures in workshops and tutorials in consolidating our learning made coming to Sheffield very appealing.

Sheffield is really a city like no other, it is not only affordable but it is one of the safest cities out there that makes it a comfortable place to be. I would say that I’m really enjoying my time here in Sheffield so far, it has only been a few months but it already feels like home!

With few universities in the UK offering scholarships or financial support to international students, I am very grateful for Sheffield and its scholarship offers, as it shows the multicultural environment that Sheffield is

As an international student it’s easy to get homesick but here in Sheffield, you are able to meet so many people from all around the world and get immersed in a variety of activities, that it just takes away the fear of transitioning to a new place.

Whatever your interests are, I would say that Sheffield would definitely be able to offer it to you! If you’re into the outdoors and nature then the beautiful Peak District is there for you or if you’re into night outs then the Student Union constantly has amazing nights planned for you.

Not only is the city a great place to be but the people are also incredibly friendly and welcoming. You will also be able to find all kinds of support here in Sheffield right from the very beginning, from a pick up service at the airport to other support in your academics.

I would definitely say that the people that I have met here so far is a huge factor in helping my adjustment to Sheffield.

The Merit Undergraduate Scholarship has helped me immensely in terms of financial cost, by lessening the financial burden and giving me a chance to come over to the UK to study at one of the best universities.

With few universities in the UK offering scholarships or financial support to international students, I am very grateful for Sheffield and its scholarship offers, as it shows the multicultural environment that Sheffield is.

With this scholarship it will aid in my studies over the next three years by being a motivational factor to keep on performing my very best.
