Alex Berry

Alex is the Departmental Manager for the SMI. She has overall responsibility for the Professional Services team and their work within the department. Her responsibilities include: Working with the Department's Executive Team to set the strategic direction for the SMI. Ensuring planning decisions are operationalised and managed through the Department's professional systems and structures. Working with the Director of the SMI on academic, financial and resource planning. Leading and managing the Departmental Professional Service Team, coordinating and managing the development of all procedures relating to research, learning and teaching, human resources, external relations, finance, and estates and facilities. Collaborating with other Departmental Managers and Faculty colleagues and contributing to Faculty projects.

Alex has worked at the University of Sheffield since 2013 and has over 20 years experience in Higher Education, holding a variety of roles in management, administration and student support. She is an experienced Study Skills teacher, having previously been a module leader for modules at Level 0 and at Level 4 at the University
