About the day
If you’re an A Level biologist considering a degree in biology, ecology, plant sciences or zoology, and you’d like to know what it would be like to study at the University of Sheffield, join us for an eye-opening experience day that will introduce you to the unique research-embedded model of teaching that we use in the Department of Animal and Plant Sciences.
In the morning you'll work in one of our undergraduate biology labs with our staff and some of our current students. You'll investigate how biologists answer scientific questions, using examples of animal behaviour, evolution and ecology.
After lunch you’ll find out more about being a biology student at the University of Sheffield, with a tour of the facilities, a visit to our teaching museum and a sample lecture delivered by one of our world-class academic researchers. This will be followed by a Q&A session with some of our current undergraduate students, a member of our admissions team, and a careers expert, who will all be on hand to answer any queries you might have about studying whole organism biology (or the wider biologies) at Sheffield.
