Nursery Mandarin Tutor

The Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield is currently compiling a database of teachers in the Sheffield region who would be willing to undertake part-time teaching of Mandarin Chinese to children aged 6 months – 3 years old.

Essential:
• Speaker of standard Mandarin Chinese and with high level of English;
• Ability to work with young children below age 3;
• Good communicational skills with parents;
• Willing to self-study and to be trained, and to progress continuously;
• Flexibility and adaptability;
• Proactive, enthusiasm and creativity;

Desirable:
• Background of early childhood development and psychology;
• Background of language acquisition;
• Chinese language teaching, or other language teaching qualification;
• Previous teaching experience;
• Working experience with children.

Hourly rates of pay are determined by qualifications and experience.

Chinese Folk Dance Teacher

The Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield (SCI) is looking for a Chinese Folk Dance Teacher, who would be willing to undertake 2h teaching to children aged 5-14 years old at weekends.

Essential:
• Ability to work with children;
• Good communicational skills with parents;
• Flexibility and adaptability;
• Enthusiasm and creativity;

Desirable:
• Teaching-related qualification;
• Previous teaching experience and working experience with children;
• Speaker of standard Mandarin Chinese and with high level of English.

Hourly rate of pay is determined the university standard.
