Profile

My background mainly involves two fields, construction project management and information management. I obtained my bachelor degree in Construction Project Management in 2017 in China. After this, I studied the master of information management in information school, University of Sheffield. Continually, I start my PhD project in the information system research group, UoS, from 2019 to the present, studying digital collaboration in the context of the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry.

PhD project

Title: "Digital Collaboration across boundaries -– A Case Study of the BIM-enabled Construction Project"

Digital collaboration is important for improving business performance, particularly for the project-based Architecture, Construction, Engineering (AEC) industry. Building Information Modelling (BIM) as the collaboration process in the AEC industry is believed to improve the collaborative work practice and benefit the project performance. Therefore, knowledge sharing as the key practice should be facilitated in the collaboration process. However, knowledge sharing always take place at different knowledge boundaries. In a construction project, these boundaries are caused by the multiple disciplines and organisations nature of a construction project. The existing studies have limited understanding of how digital collaboration affect knowledge sharing at different knowledge boundaries. Therefore, my study explores this phenomenon by conducting an inductive case study of the BIM-enabled construction project.
