ACSE and the Big Walk 2019: Sole mates!
On Friday the Department’s “Sole Mates” will be undertaking a gruelling 37 mile walk through Sheffield and the Peak District: as part of the Big Walk 2019: with the aim of raising money to help talented students in financial need.
The Sole Mates are made up of our Head of Department, Professor Daniel Coca, along with Cristian, Denisa and Ben. On Friday 28th June 2019 they’re going to take part in the full-length 37 mile route, in order to raise money for Sheffield Scholarships.
Their route starts at the University, going out to the Peak District through Endcliffe and Ringinglow, down into Fox House through the Longshaw Estate, through Hathersage and across to Hope. Joined by the walkers taking part in the shorter (but still long) 23 mile route they’ll continue up through Ladybower, Bradfield and back down to the University for a celebratory finish!
Cristian says “This will be our first Big Walk so please donate to our page to help give students the opportunity to come and study here at Sheffield.” If you would like to donate please visit the Sole Mate’s fundraising page, where you can also catch up with their training walks.
You can find the full route at the Big Walk 2019 page, along with details of the scholarship scheme we’re supporting.
Best of luck to you Sole Mates! We hope your walk goes well!
