Alfred Denny Conference Room, Alfred Denny Building, The University of Sheffield, Western Bank, Sheffield, S10 2TN

Description

Nikolay will talk about what the UKRI are trying to do to change research culture and how they can better support all members of research teams.

Nikolay was a PhD student and a Post-doc at Sheffield and is now part of the UKRI Talent Team and was involved in writing the UKRI People and teams action plan.

UKRI’s people and teams action plan sets out how they will support the development of skilled people and teams in research and innovation. The plan takes forward their implementation of the Technician Commitment and Researcher Development Concordat.

He wrote a very interesting UKRI blog focusing on the importance of recognising the many non-academic roles that are needed in research and how they are valued “It takes a village to deliver research”.

His presentation will be followed by a discussion panel including:-

  • Julie Gray (School Director of Research & Innovation)
  • Andrew Lin (School Director of One University)
  • Meera Warrier (Assistant Director - Researchers and Culture, Research, Partnerships and Innovation)
  • Leila Abbas (School Post-doctoral Society Representative)
  • Bronte Elliott (School Technical Staff Representative)

If you have any questions you would like to ask Nikolay or the panel you can ask them on the day or add them to this form.
