Designing Hand-Held Equipment for More Effective Human Interaction
Supervisors: Dr M J Carré, Dr J Rowson
This project has come about through recent research into the area of handling and manipulation of hand-held equipment (e.g. tools, devices etc.). The project will utilise results from a recent in-depth survey to establish an existing product area that leads to poor handling performance such as difficulties in manipulation, or generation of pain.

The project will then concentrate on studying human-product interaction through video observations and simulations in a lab environment and examine ways to improve the design for users of all ages and abilities.
