Administrative / biographical history: this small archive was created as the result of a research project into the cultural heritage of circus in the North East, which focused on the Arthur Fenwick Collection of Circus ephemera held by Tyne & Wear Archives. The project was supported by the Heritage Lottery Young Roots Programme and was developed in partnership with Tyne & Wear Archives and Discovery Museums in Newcastle upon Tyne. Much of the research was carried out at the National Fairground Archive.
