Our research brings together a team of world-class ecologists working at a range of scales: from individuals to populations, and communities to ecosystems.

Together we work to better understand fundamental ecological processes and to address key environmental challenges facing humankind, including maintaining biodiversity in the face of global environmental change and ensuring provision of the ecosystem goods and services that the growing human population requires.

Flagship institutes

The University’s four flagship institutes bring together our key strengths to tackle global issues, turning interdisciplinary and translational research into real-world solutions.
