Grace Mccaffery Won the 2019 Ede and Ravenscroft prize

First year student Grace has already made the most of the opportunities available to her at Sheffield, exploring the areas that really interest her within biomedical science, attending Peer Assisted Study Scheme sessions in the department, and even scooping the Ede and Ravenscroft prize this academic year in recognition of her outstanding academic performance.

Studying forensic anatomy in third year

Lauren Tomlinson Studied the third-year Forensic Anatomy module

Lauren chose to study the Forensic Anatomy module in third year after enjoying being introduced to human anatomy during her second year at Sheffield. From guest lectures by police investigators, to lab sessions putting identification techniques into practice, Lauren enjoyed following the same process that the experts use done to solve a case.

Working in a forensic-related field is something Charlotte is keen to explore in the future and the forensic anatomy module allowed her to put her new forensic anatomy skills into practice, completing coursework linked to the work a forensic scientist would do.

Stephen Salem Placement organisation: Eli Lilly

Working in the Translational Neuroscience team at Eli Lilly, Stephen was given the freedom to research and develop a new project idea aiming to discover whether he could target pain by targeting fear. Following graduation, Stephen now plans to pursue a research-based career.

International Merit Scholarships

We offer a generous package of financial support for international students including 75 undergraduate scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee and 125 postgraduate taught scholarships worth £5,000 towards the tuition fee. Applications are now open for existing offer holders.
