My MSc helped me secure a place on the DPhil in Oncology at the University of Oxford

“During my Masters application process, I was torn between two universities: the University of Manchester (where I completed my BSc) and Sheffield. I knew that I made the right decision by moving to Sheffield. Being in a new city, meeting with lots of international friends, and having support from great researchers had a massive impact on both my academic career and social life!

“I’m currently doing my DPhil at the Department of Oncology, University of Oxford. It wasn’t an easy process at all, but it was totally worth it! I spent a year going through application processes, interviews and had a research placement at the University of Sheffield under supervision of Professor Peter Monk.

I can honestly say that all the taught modules, practical training, and the placement opportunity, provided a great chance to advance my perspective, knowledge, experience, and allowed me to focus on my aspirations in order to accomplish a career in the Oncology field. My hope is to translate my research inventions from bench-to-bedside to improve diagnosis and prognosis of cancer patients.
